Writing Report

I am continuing with writing my report. I have to hand-in all my work on Friday 30th April. I am just making the final touches to my report.

Interview with PixelFish

I went and visited the PixelFish office today and interviewed Adam Bowen - Director & Co-Founder of the company. I asked him the questions I put together and looked around their work space in the enterprise pavilion. I gathered a lot of information and enjoyed the visit.

I am still waiting for replies to the Emails I have sent out to web designers asking them If I can ask them questions. I may have to find some more people to ask, just in case I do not get any replies.

I am writing up questions that I can ask people and companies in the web design industry that I have found. All the questions are based on how they feel about and how they got into web design. I do not want to ask to many questions as I know they are busy doing design work, but I want to make sure I get all the answers I need to to write my report.

Interviews

I have done some research into finding companies and freelance web designers to ask questions to. I have found a few people and will be writing to them asking if they can answer my questions. I am also arranging a visit to PixelFish in the enterprise Building on campus who are a Web design company. I will ask them my questions and look around their studio where they do the work. I am writing to them asking when a convenient time is for them.

Learning Agreement changes

After reading through the learning agreement I wrote yesterday, I decided to make some changes to what I want to do after and what I am going to do during this unit.

Learning Agreement

I wrote my learning agreement today. In it I had to write about what I want to during this unit, what I want to do after I finish the course, and what area of design I want to get into - which is web design. I also wrote about my strengths and the areas that need improvement. My areas of strength are Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash and Researching. My areas that need improvement are Quark/ InDesign, Time Management, Organization, Concentration. The next thing I need to do as part of this unit is find companies and web designers I can interview for my Work Related Learning Report.

Start of Work Related Learning

Today I started my Work Related Learning unit. I am starting now due to illness. Today I received the brief and found out what I am doing to complete the unit. I have to make a learning agreement, a schedule to make sure I am on time with work and to make sure I do everything. I am going to start my learning agreement today.
